Sky Betting & Gaming’s Caroline Ackroyd has been named as the Best Finance Director of a Private Equity Company (£50m+) in the 14th annual Yorkshire Finance Director Awards.
Ackroyd, who wasn’t even aware she had received a nomination, was selected from a shortlist of 32 candidates across the country.
The judging process involved a panel interview with the four awards sponsors, Sewell Business Group, BDO, Walker Morris and Lockton.
Ian Proctor, SB&G Chief Finance Officer, said: “We are delighted to celebrate this fantastic accolade with Caroline, who receives well-deserved recognition for the delivery of several key corporate strategy and operational efficiency projects for the business, during a period that has seen us gain independence from Sky to be named as one of Yorkshire’s ‘unicorns’ or companies valued over $1bn.”
Caroline is also a co-founder of the SBGWomen networking group, which works to ensure the company is attracting women at all levels, who want to build and develop a successful career in a range of disciplines from finance and trading through to systems analysis and infrastructure.
Former Bank of England Economist and Labour MP Rachel Reeves spoke at the event, which featured ten awards and raised important funds for the children’s charity, Variety.
