Harry Kane fails to convince Spiffx punters on Spurs return

football-england-tottenham-kane-shutterstock_296070608-1Despite their unbeaten start to the Premier League season, and the return to fitness of star striker Harry Kane, Spurs failed to convince punters on Spiffx during the North London derby at the Emirates.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side started the match with only 10% of the backing, a figure that dropped to 2.68% in-play, even though Kane brought them level with nearly 40 minutes still to play. This is particularly surprising given Spurs looked the more likely winners in the closing stages, as Christian Eriksen forced a save from Petr Cech before hitting the post with an angled free-kick.

Arsenal missed the chance to go top of the Premier League, and will be ruing a missed opportunity against a Spurs side missing the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko. The fourth placed Gunners, unbeaten since the opening day of the season, are now sweating on the fitness of Alexis Sanchez ahead of their league match at Old Trafford next weekend.

After watching Arsenal miss the chance to reach the Premier League summit, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool duly took their chance with a thumping 6-1 victory over Watford at Anfield. Having recorded a 3-0 victory over the Reds last season, Watford went into the match with the support of 16% on Spiffx. However, after an early goal the bets were only going one way, as a Liverpool side inspired by Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino attracted 91.09% of the in-play bets.
