Following the conclusion of the ‘International Races’ festival (11 December) at the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), event title sponsor and HKJC commercial partner Longines has confirmed that it will extend its commercial tie-in with the Asian racing operator.

Updating corporate stakeholders this weekend, HKJC governance detailed that Swiss watchmaker Longines had extended its title sponsorship of its ‘International Races’ festival, and would continue to act as official sponsor of all HKJC races.

HKJC governance would label this year’s festival as a ‘record breaker’, with a crowd turnout of +100,000 visitors at Sha Tin for the + $10 million racing event.

“This was one of the most astonishing days of international racing we have seen in Hong Kong,” said Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Chief Executive Officer.

Engelbrecht-Bresges thanked Longines commitment to the festival, further stating that its sponsorship was becoming a ‘heritage’ partnership for HKJC.

“Over the last five years, with the tremendous support of Longines, Hong Kong International Races week has achieved new heights. With this track record of success, we are delighted that Longines will continue as a sponsor of the Longines International Jockeys’ Engelbrecht-Bresges added.

“The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Longines have a proud heritage and share many of the same values, striving for excellence in all that we do and being committed to delivering world class performance”.
