Android Gambling Applications Coming to Marketplace

Gamblers can bet with 100 percent certainty on the future proliferation of Android-based casinos.

Almost immediately after Apple put their smartphone, the iPhone, on the market, mobile gambling companies went to work designing and developing mobile applications that would offer iPhone users a mobile-based gambling and casino experience. This went on for years, with companies releasing disappointing applications while they struggled against Apple’s restrictive policies.

Headway in this industry was eventually made last July, when Probability, a United Kingdom-based mobile betting firm, released “Touch Casino,” an iPhone gambling application. After the success and influence of “Touch Casino” was made clear, the rest of the industry has been doing everything it can to catch up.

Probability’s next project was to expand the compatibility of its mobile gaming application to the Android operating system, a platform found on many recent smartphone models. Probability’s programmers have been hard at work producing this Android application, and while it has not yet been released, the application has been approved for release in the official Android Marketplace.

The Android platform allows developers the freedom to design and produce the applications they wish to without requiring approval and authorization from Android executives. Consumers also have the freedom to obtain any software they desire without risking the voiding of their warranties on the smartphones.

Recent reports predict that Android will have a 19% market share by 2012 and will surpass Apple’s 16% market share. With this in mind, Android-based casinos and gambling applications are sure to become a staple in the gambling world.
