New Law In Japan Legalizes Casino Gambling

A new law has been introduced in Japan on Monday, allowing casino gambling.

The law that was sponsored by a group of lawmakers, most of them from the main party of the Liberal Democratic, opens the government the opportunity to create ingrated resorts that include hotels, casinos and other entertainment facilities.

Besides all the public concerns about the risk of gambling addiction, the government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will formulate further legislation required to build such properties and potentially gain a tourism boost.

The law gives the government a one year preparation time to deal with gambling addiction problems, prevention of organited crime groups and other problems that can accur with casino resorts.

In Japan casinos were been banned by law but gambling with slot machines and pachinko parlors has been permitted before. The same goes for betting on horse, bicycle and powerboat races.
