Cops in Miami Seize Illegal Gambling Machines

A police sweep in Miami called ‘Operation Lucky 7’ has nabbed over 400 illegal gambling machines from city businesses this week. The crackdown came after many complaints were called in about the illegal machines. Some of the gambling machines were removed by police a few years ago and somehow made their way back inside some local businesses.

Police have been working for a couple of months identifying party stores, hardware stores and cafeterias that had the machines inside and running. Most of the machines were taken from the Little Havana area and Allapattah. These machines are games of chance with some paying out re-plays or points which could be swapped for cash. Two dozen business owners were cited and must now appear in court. Some of the machines seized had illegal license stickers adhered to them.
