Brendon GaleAustralian Football League (AFL) club Richmond has entered into a partnership with the Victorian Responsible Gaming Foundation, with a deal that precludes the Australian rules club from having sports betting sponsors.

As reported in iGaming Business, the agreement will run for three seasons, from 2016 to 2018.

They have become the seventh AFL team to sign the Charter and step away from sports betting sponsorship.

Brendon Gale, Richmond Chief Executive, said: “To join six other AFL Clubs in signing the Responsible Gambling Charter is a strong stance by the AFL community, and we look forward to supporting the Foundation’s initiatives over the next three years at least.”

Serge Sardo, Chief Executive of the Victorian Responsible Gaming Foundation, added: “Richmond now joins the majority of Victorian AFL clubs who will spread the word about responsible gambling to their fans.”
