The organisers of SportsPro Live are delighted to announce that Philippe Blatter and Andrew Messick have joined the line-up for this year’s event at Wembley Stadium on 22nd and 23rd March.
Blatter, President & CEO of Wanda Sports Holding and of Infront Sports & Media, and Messick, CEO & President of IRONMAN, will take part in a headline session on 22nd March.
Infront Sports & Media and IRONMAN were both acquired by Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda last year in deals worth a total of more than US$1.8 billion. In November, the two companies were integrated into the Wanda Sports Holding, with Blatter appointed to head the entire entity.
In a double-interview on stage, Blatter and Messick will discuss the strategic direction for the businesses under the Wanda Sports Holding banner, the rich prospects for mass participation events in Asia and beyond, and the shifting sports agency landscape as a whole.
Philippe Blatter
Blatter joined Infront after ten years at management consultancy McKinsey & Company, becoming President & CEO of the Swiss-based agency in 2005, and is now the first non-Chinese in Wanda Cultural Industry Group’s top management.
Beforehand, Blatter evolved Infront into one of the leading international sports marketing companies, through both organic expansion and strategic acquisition. The group now has relationships with most major sporting properties worldwide.
Andrew Messick
Messick has been CEO & President of IRONMAN since 2011. He has led the significant expansion of the iconic IRONMAN brand across the world and cemented its position as the pre-eminent endurance brand in an era of exploding popularity in the mass participation space.
A former McKinsey & Company consultant and president of NBA International, Messick joined IRONMAN from his role as president of AEG Sports.
