Microsoft’s Kinect Challenges Wii

Microsoft’s innovative, never-before seen technology featured in its new gaming device, Kinect is set to take on Nintendo’s Wii gaming machine. Kinect was released to the public in the United States last week and it will be rolled out to the rest of the world this week.

Kinect is a motion-sensing gaming device that tracks the movement of your body and voice, allowing you to play games, dance and exercise. The device is designed to sit above or below your television and is attached to the Xbox console via a USB cable. Besides being able to play games on Kinect you also can store movies, tv shows and music on it without needing to use controls.

Microsoft reported that sales so far are brisk. In fact, the device is flying off of store shelves. Microsoft says its expecting to sell 5 million units this Christmas season alone.
