Arsenal’s Walcott Optimistic About Next Match

Theo Walcott, Arsenal’s winger, is looking forward to the team’s upcoming match against the Wolves. Although the football club suffered a disappointing defeat against Newcastle, resulting in a big blow to the team’s ambitions, Walcott believes the upcoming match will be the perfect way for Arsenal to forget about the loss.

Walcott believes that having another match scheduled so soon after the game against Newcastle will work in the team’s favor and help the players to keep up their momentum.

“Football is a great game, you have ups and downs, with clubs like us slipping up,” said Walcott. “However, there are plenty of teams in it still, but we are not going to look too far ahead.”

The loss to Newcastle resulted in Arsenal losing out on its chance to close the gap between it and league-leader Chelsea.

“We just want to concentrate on every single game, and take a step when we can,” added Walcott. “It is in the past now, we lost, but the great thing about football is there is another game around the corner. We have got a game on Wednesday and we can amend the disappointment.”

Walcott, returning from an ankle injury he sustained in September while playing for England, said he also draws inspiration from other football players in the league, such as Didier Drogba, a player for Chelsea.

“It is not about just watching your own teammates, but it is picking bits out of other people’s games, like Didier; he is one of the top goal scorers I have ever seen,” said Walcott. “For me, he is a fantastic player and hopefully one day I can be up there and score as many goals as him.”
