Damian Cope
Greek licensed gambling operator has announced the appointment of former Ladbrokes International MD Damian Cope as its new Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment of Cope follows an internal review process of OPAP governance, which saw the operator split its corporate leadership roles of CEO & Chairman.
The decision which will come into full effect on the 1 July, will see current CEO & Chairman Kamil Ziegler assume the responsibility of OPAP Executive Chairman.
The OPAP board stated that the decision to split its leadership was undertaken in order to enhance the company’s governance efficiencies and aligned its business policy with best executive practices.
OPAP welcomes Damian Cope as its new leader, a sixteen-year industry executive veteran who has worked with UK legacy operators Ladbrokes, Coral and Rank on international development projects throughout Europe.
Commenting on his appointment Damian Cope stated “I feel privileged to be taking on the role of Chief Executive of OPAP, a hugely respected brand both in Greece and around the world.
Over the last three years under Kamil’s strong leadership OPAP has undergone significant change and made positive progress. I look forward to working closely with Kamil and everyone at OPAP in building an even brighter future for the company”
