Updating the market, Toronto TSX-listed Intertain Group (Intertain) has announced that it will hold a ‘special meeting of shareholders’ on the 23 September, outlining the firm’s plans to seek a full listing on the London Stock Exchange.

The LSE listing planned for this October will see the firm renamed under its core brand ‘Jackpot Plc’, with Intertain governance moving its headquarters to London. Moving forward, Jackpotjoy Plc will further serve as the parent company of all Intertain Group assets.

Having announced a new leadership team in June, with the appointments of former Gala Coral CEO Neil Goulden as its new Chairman of the Board along with Andrew McIver the former CEO of Sportingbet as new Chief Executive. Intertain governance informed investors that the company would seek to enhance its value by listing on the London Exchange, moving its operations closer to its core markets of the UK and Europe.

Neil Goulden, Chairman of the Board, said, “We are excited to have reached these important milestones in implementing the UK Strategic Initiatives. We continue to believe that these initiatives will result in a fuller and more appropriate valuation of our business and that they position Intertain for long-term growth and success. We are also excited to be taking the UK Strategic Initiatives to our shareholders at the Meeting later this month, and to providing them with an opportunity to consider and approve the Arrangement, which is necessary for us to proceed with these proposals.”

The firm’s ‘UK Strategic Initiative’, has led to  Intertain appointing four new directors to its board; Nigel Brewster and Keith Laslop (current CFO) join Intertain governance as non-executive directors, with the company employing Jörgen Nordlund and Colin Sturgeon as non-executive advisors.

In a further update, Jackpotjoy Founder Noel Hayden will not be standing for re-election to the firm’s new board. Intertain governance stated that moving forward; Hayden would assist the company as a special advisor, further detailing to investors that Hayden supported the firms UK Strategic Initiative.’

Neil Goulden commented on the board restructure ahead of its planned London listing;

“We are delighted to have Noel continuing with us as a special advisor. In this role, we will continue to have the benefit of Noel’s valuable insight and contributions on key aspects of our business, but without the procedural impediments that result from our close collaboration with Gamesys, which have restricted his involvement in certain aspects of the Board’s deliberations over recent months. Both we and Noel are excited to continue to develop the existing strong relationship between Intertain and Gamesys. We are also excited to have Nigel, Colin and Keith joining the Jackpotjoy Board – their strong experience in relevant areas will provide us with additional perspective as we continue to build Intertain’s core assets going forward.”
