RobinReedFurthering its presence within Eastern European betting markets, Oslo-listed Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has confirmed that it has entered a platform services partnership with Niké, Slovakia’s largest betting operator.

Niké who at present operator over 900 betting points in Slovakia, will integrate GIG’s iGaming Cloud (iGC) platform as the gambling operator prepares for a new regulatory framework for igaming and betting provisions.

GIG platform solutions will power Niké services for sports betting and online casino via the new Niké.sk website.

Robin Reed CEO of GIG, was pleased that his firm had secured its twentieth industry services agreement in 2016, in what GIG governances stated was an exceptional commercial year.

“Through this agreement, iGC is expanding its geographical reach to Slovakia and we are doing so with the number one player, Niké,” Reed stated

“For more than two decades they have delivered a premium service through their network of more than 900 branches. We are excited that they have chosen iGamingCloud as their platform provider, and as such are helping us pursue the vision of connecting the iGaming industry.”

Giving insight into the partnership, Niké CEO and co-owner Otto Berger detailed that GIG had been selected following a comprehensive tender process. Berger would state that GIG were the ‘best choice’ for Niké as Slovakia prepares for a liberalised market place

“After the liberalization of e-games in Slovakia, our goal is to be number one in this area, as we have long been in the field of sports betting,” Berger explained. “We are looking forward to the cooperation with iGC and we believe that the Lottery Act in the area of e-games will be liberalized in Slovakia in the near future.”
