Racecourse Media Group appoints sports commerce veteran Andy Anson as Non-Executive Director

UK Racing media rights holding firm Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has moved to strengthen its governance and leadership advisory by appointing Andy Anson as a new Independent Non-Executive Director.

Anson a sports industry commercial and media veteran, has held leadership positions at ATP Tennis and Manchester United. He further consulted the FA on its 2018 FIFA World Cup bid.

RMG Chairman Simon Ellen commented on the director appointment “I am delighted that Andy Anson has agreed to join the RMG Board as the third Independent Non-executive Director, an appointment which allows us to further improve the governance of RMG.

“Andy has enjoyed a distinguished executive career as well as being an experienced NED on the Boards of PLCs and sporting bodies. He brings a deep knowledge of the management of media and data rights to the RMG Board and I am delighted that we have been able to make this important appointment.”

Anson will advise RMG on stakeholder management and global commercial opportunities for RMG operations and assets. Commenting on joining RMG’s board of directors Anson stated

“RMG’s track record in commercialising horseracing’s media and data rights has been most impressive. I look forward to working with the Chairman Simon Ellen and the rest of the team in contributing to its future success.”
