William Hill backs Tottenham Hotspur’s ‘Elevator Programme’

Bookmaker William Hill will support Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur community initiative the ‘Elevator Programme’, helping young people in London Borough of Haringey gain employment.

The ‘Elevator Programme’ has been developed by The Tottenham Hotspur’s Foundation, which the bookmaker will contribute to and aid as its official club betting partner.

Moving forward, the programme aims to provide 18 – 24-year-olds from Haringey with education, training and opportunities to secure work experience and employment. It further builds upon the Club’s wider employability work in relation to the new stadium development, which once complete is expected to support around 3,500 jobs – an increase of 1,700 new jobs a year.

William Hill, whose headquarters are based near the Club in Wood Green, has provided the Tottenham Hotspur Elevator Programme with a £100,000 grant to fund the programme as part of its community commitment, Close to HOME, which seeks to make a positive contribution to the local communities where the company is based.

Grant Cornwell MBE, CEO of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “The Club is committed to driving employment within its local community and we are delighted to be adding the Elevator Programme to our wide range of projects with the support of William Hill.”

Bill South, Group Director of Security and Community Affairs at William Hill, said “We are proud to be launching the Elevator Programme with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, which will continue our company commitment to providing skills and employment opportunities to individuals in our local communities.”
