ASA bans Bear Group Daily Star Wins TV advert

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned a TV advert by online casino operator Bear Group Ltd promoting casino white-label brand Daily Star Wins (StarWins.com).

The advertising watchdog deemed that the TV-advert ‘Star Wins 30’ produced by Bear Group breached UK gambling services promotional standards on the counts of ‘objectifying woman’ and suggesting that betting can enhance consumer ‘personal qualities and attractiveness’.

ASA informs that it has received viewer complaints relating to the advertisement’s sexually leaning content, which was created by Channel 5 and aired last January.

Stating its defence, Bear Group operator of StarWins.com has stated that at no point does the advert highlight sexual allusion by its cast members. The operator further stated that the actresses featured in the advert are dressed as croupiers, and not overtly sexualized (advert featured below).

However, ASA has rejected Bear Group’s defence moving to ban the TV Advert.
