Holmes, Sky BettingSky Betting and Gaming welcomed 80 advanced agile practitioners from across Yorkshire, for a session focusing on how its team of delivery specialists are working in new and different ways.

The talks, which reflected on twelve months of forward thinking, collaboration and partnership for the company, were led by Sky Betting and Gaming’s Lead Business Analyst Tom Holmes, who was joined by Programme Manager Lee Marshall and Scrum Masters Adele Shaw and John Kitson.

Tom Holmes commented: “Leeds has a strong tech meet-up scene and it is great news that we’re running something at this more advanced level for more experienced delivery teams. We’ve been very candid with the developments that have taken place and the issues we faced, and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to discuss our work.”

The speakers shared learnings and discoveries that allowed them to improve employee morale, enhance product performance and deliver a positive impact across four areas, including delivering innovation, and the impact that measuring can have on the outcome and on people’s behaviour.

There were also talks on the exploration of waste, and on discovering your ‘agile maturity levels’. This exposed the difficulties posed by the term itself, and the challenge of nailing down where to affect improvement. The maturity model approach undertaken by Sky Bet’s Gaming Tribe was also described with some key learnings on how to develop your own model.
