Swansea City seeks to expand Asian commercial presence with Letou shirt sponsorship

English Premier League football club Swansea City has this morning announced that new Asian-focused online betting and casino operator, Letou (letou.co.uk) will be its season 2017/18 official shirt sponsor.

The Welsh football club today hosted an unveiling ceremony for its new season ‘home & away shirts’ designed by Spanish kit manufacturer Joma. The new shirt features the branding of Letou on the front and is accompanied by web-security firm Barracuda, who have taken sponsorship of the Club’s sleeves.

Agreeing on terms with Letou, Swansea City COO Chris Pearlman detailed that the sponsorship continues the football club’s initiative of expanding its commercial presence within Asian consumer markets.

“Swansea City has ambitions to grow our brand in Asia,’’ explained Pearlman, “where Letou has a strong presence and a lot of experience. With over a billion people likely to watch the Premier League over the course of the season, a third of the league’s total TV audience, it’s a major partnership that will benefit both parties.”

Pearlman’s comments were backed by Paul Fox Chief Executive of Letou who stated “It would be easy as an Asian-facing gaming company to sign the cheque and build awareness purely through branding. I was brought up in Glasgow and have family in Swansea. So when the opportunity arose to work with Swansea City, it was really important to me that Letou uses our partnership to give back to the community as much as possible.”

Sponsoring Swansea City, Letou leadership further detailed that the company would be committed to helps the ‘Swans’ local community and grassroots sports initiatives in the coming months.

We’re donating our corporate hospitality box to homeless charity Shelter Cymru, and handing over our season ticket allocation to Disability Sport Wales. I am confident that the ‘Letou Goals for Good’ campaign we are launching will make a difference.” Paul Fox further commented
