Portugal FPF becomes first national football federation to join Dugout platform

The Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (FPF) has become the first national football federation to join sports social content platform Dugout.

The FPF joins Dugout’s growing portfolio of social media sports content publishers, which at present stands at 100 professional football players and 51 of the world’s biggest football clubs.

The partnership will see FPF utilise Dugout to publish content covering activity across all their national teams, including the men’s senior team, women’s senior team, under 20, under 21 and youth teams, as well as beach soccer and futsal teams.

Nuno Moura, Chief Marketing Officer, Football Federation of Portugal, says: “It´s a real privilege to see Portugal become the first National Team in the world to join Dugout, a platform for football lovers from all corners of the globe, that has achieved enormous success in such short window of time.”

“We have a huge fan base worldwide, aka #TeamPortugal, and love to stay close to them. In our Dugout page fans will have the opportunity to see exclusive behind-the-scenes content from our teams including the best footballer in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, the best Futsal player in the world, Ricardinho, and the best beach soccer player in the world, Madjer.”

Global fans of Portuguese football will be able to follow teams through training, friDugoutendlies and major tournaments, including this current Confederations Cup. They can also relive the greatest moments from the nation’s football history, and keep up to date with the Federation’s grassroots initiatives.

Elliot Richardson, President of Dugout commented on the partnership:  We’re thrilled to announce Portugal as the first national team to join the Dugout platform. Portugal is an iconic football nation, reigning European champions, with one of the best players ever to play the game in Cristiano Ronaldo. Now football fans all over the world can access the best content from Portugal, both on and off the pitch – no matter where they are.”

“We are in conversation with a number of other federations, and we hope to announce more partnerships over the coming weeks and months – watch this space!”

Launched in November 2016, Dugout aims to become the leading authority in digital/social media sports content and new fan engagement having secured a number of athletes and football clubs as partners.
