Betway is the Official Betting Partner of ESL One Cologne

In a major announcement by ESL, it was revealed today that CS:GO tournament ESL One Cologne (the finals for which are July 7-9) will this year have Betway as its Official Betting Partner.

In turn this means that live odds will be available in the broadcast.

Betway’s Anthony Werkman, Director of Marketing and Operations commented: “We are delighted to partner with ESL for Cologne, a landmark event of the CS:GO calendar. With CS:GO being the most competitive it has ever been, we can’t wait to see the world’s top teams battle it out.”

The group stage games kick off tomorrow. This is a tournament which sees 16 of the world’s best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams fight it out for a share of the $250,000 prize pool and the ESL One trophy. There have been over 12,000 tickets already sold for the event which’ll take place at the LANXESS Arena, the home of the Cologne Sharks ice hockey team.

The current bookies’ favourite is SK Gaming, who recently won at DreamHack Sweden, and they’re available at 3.80 with Betway. Likely contenders are FaZe Clan (4.00) and G2 at 6.50.

Betway are widely regarded in regulated esports betting as a leading operator; they signed a major partnership with Ninjas in Pyjamas in September 2016 and are a member of the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC). Moreover, they put out a lot of content and run their own focused Betway esports Twitter channel which is highly and consistently engaged.

The ESL press release called Betway a ‘leading voice in esports betting integrity’ and noted that allowing the company’s live odds into the broadcast of the tournament will help to ‘demonstrate the balance of power between the playing teams’.
