Betway continues its Esports sponsorship expansion

Esports sportsbook operator Betway has announced it will be the primary sponsor of the ESL Pro League 2017.

The longest running league in professional CS:GO, commences its sixth season today, with 14 European and North American teams battling it out online for a $1m prize pool.

The league’s online phase will see matches held three times per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, continuing until the ESL Pro League finals, to be held in Odense, Denmark, from 8 – 10  December.

Betway’s sponsorship follows on from its  successful previous partnership with ESL One Cologne earlier in the year.

The operator will be adding live odds to the tournament broadcast, compiled by its team of esports traders, as it did previously at ESL One Cologne.

Anthony Werkman, Director of Marketing and Operations at Betway, said: “We are very excited for the next few months as some of the world’s best CS:GO players will battle it out for its biggest prize, the ESL Pro League, as well as the seven-figure prize pool.

“Our experience sponsoring ESL One Cologne was a huge success, and the feedback we received from our first-of-its-kind live odds feeds into the broadcast has inspired us to increase our involvement across tournaments and teams in the coming months and years.”

Betway has been pro-active in the esports community over recent years, with a sustained effort in increasing its quality and amount of betting content, as well as obtaining membership of the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) last year.
