Seeking a high Rank: Grosvenor Sport takes Tipster Challenge

Grosvenor Sport, the sportsbook provided by Rank Group subsidiary Grosvenor Casinos, has signed up for today’s Tipster Challenge at Carlisle.

Representing the company, which was recently confirmed as sponsor of this Saturday’s Celebration Mile at Goodwood Racecourse, is Head of Sport Steve Munns.

Munns has provided tips for the eight-race meet, where he will be going up against competition regular Stephen Harris, the horse racing guru for bettingexpert.

bettingexpert: Geesala Brave

Has an experience edge over these and improved last time out to take a promising fourth.

Grosvenor Sport: Barefoot Baby

Not much to worry about from those with form on the table, and although Geesala Brave is likely to improve from last time, it could be worth siding with the most powerful stable in the field and the only filly. Barefoot Baby cost a few quid and was green in a stronger contest on debut and normal improvement would see her heavily involved here at around the 4/1 mark.

bettingexpert: Picture No Sound (Nap of the Day)

Found the ground too soft when disappointing at Nottingham but had shaped well in his debut.

Grosvenor Sport: Picture No Sound (Nap of the Day)

Watch for some improvement from Canford Joy over this extra furlong but it probably won’t be enough to deny Richard Fahey’s Picture No Sound who showed solid form last time at Nottingham when not getting the cleanest of runs. Not a big price at around 6/4, but the most likely winner and preferred to Albert Street.

bettingexpert: Majestic Stone

Ran well when second in a huge field one run back and a repeat of that would be enough to go close here.

Grosvenor Sport: Jack Blane

Jack Blane has been raced over a mile and 7f so far but his latest starts indicate a drop back to 6f may be the answer. He often shows good mid-race speed before flattening out and while 5f was too sharp on his first three runs, he’s never tried this trip and looks fair value at around 7/1.

bettingexpert: Pomme De Terre

Has hinted he was coming to the boil in recent weeks and takes on some rivals here who have shot up the weights.

Grosvenor Sport: My Name Is Rio

My Name Is Rio is best at 5f with cut in the ground and gets those conditions here. The 6f wouldn’t have suited last time and is worth chancing today at around 16/1 on his first start at a track that should suit.

bettingexpert: Supreme Power

Improved dramatically on his second run for this new yard and is less exposed/fresher than some of these handicappers.

Grosvenor Sport: Heir Of Excitement

Heir Of Excitement has the benefit of 7lb claimer Seamus Cronin in the saddle and has ground conditions to suit. Being ridden prominently can be an advantage when conditions are soft and that should be the plan with this one. Looks a fair price at 9/2.

bettingexpert: Warfare

Caught the eye last time after a slow break and features on a career low mark after a long spell in the wilderness.

Grosvenor Sport: Duck Egg Blue

This 1m1f trip should suit Duck Egg Blue down to the ground and if they don’t dawdle she should be finishing fast under 7lb claimer Paula Muir on ground she likes. Likely to be a fair price at around the 8/1 mark.

bettingexpert: Kashmiri Sunset

Looked one to follow when making a winning start for Ian Jardine and paid the price for chasing a fast pace at Haydock last time out.

Grosvenor Sport: Always Resolute

In a race where a few of the principles have ground doubts it may be worth chancing Always Resolute on his return from nearly a year off. Managed 11th of 33 in the Cesarewitch on his final start last season and that form is strong in this context. Gone well after a break before.

bettingexpert: Our Place In Loule

Hit form last time out and can follow up with conditions to suit.

Grosvenor Sport: Caesar The Gaeser

Caesar The Gaeser has worked his way down to a mark 2lbs below his last win and has two course and distance wins to his name. Should be cherry ripe now and looks a fair price at around the 12/1 mark for his in-form stable.
