‘Dont Mogg Yourself’…Paddy Power lengthens Jacob Rees Mogg’s Next PM odds

A car crash interview on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ has seen bookmakers’ lengthen the odds of hardline Conservative Jacob Rees Mogg becoming the UK’s next Prime Minister.

In recent weeks, Brexiteer Rees Mogg has gained a strong following from grassroots Conservative Party members, urging on social media channels for the North-East Somerset MP to challenge Theresa May and takeover Tory leadership.

UK political punters have taken note of Rees Mogg’s growing popularity, backing the Tory backbencher to from 50/1 long-shot to 6/1 contender

However, a disastrous outing on yesterday’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, in which Rees Mogg stated that he was against gay marriage and abortion ‘in all circumstances’, appears to have derailed the MP’s #Moggmentum.

Paddy Power

Revising its UK political markets, Paddy Power has now priced Rees Mogg at 8/1 (fourth placed market favourite) to become ‘Next UK Prime Minister’.  Detailing its price change, Paddy Power stated that Rees Mogg had ‘done the impossible, by making Piers Morgan look less odious’.

Spokesman Paddy Power commented on the market: “Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and here’s mine – Jacob Rees-Mogg may well abort his run at PM after this horror-show.

“It’s hard to imagine what portion of the electorate would be particularly energised after his comments but, then again, people once voted for David Cameron – so it takes all sorts.

“I don’t know how he’ll get away with this, but maybe old Moggie has nine lives.”
