MacEacharn, Perform & Football DataCoFootball DataCo has announced a new three-year deal with Perform Group, which will run until at least 2018/19.

The business that manages and commercialises the official match data for the Premier League, EFL and Scottish Professional Football League, has confirmed that it has renewed its exclusive deal with Perform, a digital sports content and media group.

The three-year deal will see Perform’s Opta and RunningBall continue to operate as the official media and betting data partners of the eight professional leagues and associated competitions covered by Football DataCo.

Official accreditation at stadiums will allow Opta and RunningBall to continue to collect real-time data, support data editorial and performance analytics, and facilitate innovation across broadcast graphics and production workflows, digital data visualisations, fantasy and gaming concepts.

Ross MacEacharn, CEO at Perform Content, said: “I am very pleased to be continuing our excellent relationship with Football DataCo and the leagues. Our Opta and RunningBall operations are well-known market leaders in the media and betting business sectors. Our clients will be pleased that we will continue the distribution of this data for a further three years beyond the current term.”

Perform became the largest player in the data collection and distribution marketplace after purchasing RunningBall in 2011 and Opta in 2013. The company works with some of the biggest names across the world of sport, including broadcasters, clubs, brands and betting operators.
