James Burnett departs as CMO of Ladbrokes Australia

burnettJames Burnett Ladbrokes Australia’s inaugural Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) has confirmed that he has departed the company following three years’ service.

Ladbrokes Australia has appointed media/advertising executive Simon Jarvis to replace Burnett, who told Australian marketing news sources that he would take a ‘short break’ from work.

Burnett an Australian gambling veteran, who had worked in numerous marketing senior management positions for Tabcorp before joining Ladbrokes Australia, had been part of the operator’s executive launch team.

As CMO since May 2013, Burnett had been in charge of the operators marketing initiatives and strategy. Burnett had been responsible for the launch of several multi-channel campaigns and high coverage sporting partnerships as Ladbrokes Australia looked to expand its profile in the competitive Australian online sports betting market.

Confirming his departure from Ladbrokes Australia, Burnett noted that the operator had become the third-largest sports betting company in the Australian betting sector, growing to AUS $1.5 billion in revenues for 2015 and acquiring more than 85,000 new depositing customers.
