Lidoya chooses Sporty-Tech as technology provider

Cyril CasanovaLidoya, a horse race pool betting operator in Guinea-Conakry, have chosen Sporty-Tech as the technology provider to upgrade its betting solution. The agreement enables the Guinean community to bet on French horse races through various channels.

The Sporty-Tech solution has been deployed on the Lidoya network consisting of 20 betting shops and 700 kiosks. There is an SMS/GPRS gateway which allows for an automated process across the entire country, and for more than 100,000 bet slips to be processed daily.

Cyril Casanova, Sporty-Tech CEO, said: “We’re delighted to have teamed up with Lidoya on this very challenging and exciting project. In addition to the development of a totalizator that fits horse race rules in Guinea, we also had to collaborate with two local telecom operators.

“We definitely think our mobile application could fit betting operators’ needs in term of telecom coverage, by reaching potential bettors in some remote areas, which could increase their betting turnover dramatically.”

Quentin de Rozières, CEO at Lidoya, commented: “After a few months of testing, we’ve finally completed the Sporty-Tech software roll-out on our entire distribution network (700 booths + 20 betting shops).

“Carrying out such a technological shift is always a big challenge, especially in a day to day cash business like horse race pool betting which relies essentially on trust. In a sensitive social environment like Guinea, the slightest mistake could be fatal for our image. That’s the reason why we chose to partner up with a specialist like Sporty-Tech.”
