David Yan Wins The €25,750 EPT Malta High Roller

David Yan from New Zealand has won the EPT Malta High Roller event. He managed to beat a field of 46 players at the Portomaso Casino in St. Julian’s. For his victory he received a price money of €465,800.

The only 23-years old said after his win: ‘I’m pretty happy with it. It’s tough to explain, but it feels pretty nice. It’s pretty cool.’

The final table with 6 players started with the knockout of German top pro Ole Schemion in 6th place after he ran with JackJack into KingKing of Ramin Hajiyev.

It now took a while until we got our next knockout and found it in Mikita Badziakouski in fifth place when he didn’t manage to win with his AceKing  to Max Silver’s Jack10.

Silver ended up being the 4th place nevertheless when he lost his remaining chips in a race with AceQueen to his friend David Yan (JackJack).

After Hajiyev went broke with his Ace10 against Khoroshenin’s 33, we had found our headsup players.

The headsup would end quickly after Hajiyev unsuccessfully tried to bluff David Yan’s Queen Clubs10 Clubs on a Jack Hearts10 Diamonds5 Hearts7 DiamondsQueen Hearts bord with his 9 Hearts6 Diamonds.

New Zealand pro David Yan now boasted his live career earnings to over $3 million after finishing also 2nd in the EPT Barcelona €25,500 High Roller event for €704,755.
