Camelot returns National Lottery Results to Primetime with ITV

The weekly broadcasting of the National Lottery results is set to return to a UK terrestrial primetime slot, as operator Camelot drops BBC services for ITV channels.

In a move to make the National Lottery draw ‘more relevant and visible’, Camelot has ended its twenty-year partnership with the BBC as its lead broadcaster.

The switch to ITV will see the National Lottery draw broadcast during ITV’s Saturday Night Primetime schedule. In 2017, the BBC had withdrawn its National Lottery results show from terrestrial channels to its iPlayer digital services.

Broadcasting the National Lottery results, ITV has developed a 90 seconds show format which will be broadcast during its primetime ad-break viewing.

The National Lottery Results show will be hosted by Stephen Mulhern and will receive its first airing during  ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Saturday 14 April broadcast.

Confirming the changes to the National Lottery broadcast, Camelot marketing detailed that ITV’s primetime slot would make its lottery game more prominent with the UK public.

Camelot and ITV will develop the 90 seconds show with a “range of well-known guest personalities” presenting the lottery results with Stephen Mulhern.

Supporting its ITV results show, Camelot confirmed that it would broadcast the full live National Lottery draw on the National Lottery – YouTube Channel’.
