HKJC appoints Raymond Tam Chi-Yuen as Corporate Affairs Director

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has confirmed the appointment of Raymond Tam Chi-Yuen as Executive Director of Corporate Affairs.

The former Minister of Hong Kong for mainland China is expected to join the legacy racing operator on 15 August, taking leadership of HKJC corporate communications, governmental stakeholder guidance and wider corporate affairs.

HKJC further details that Chi-Yuen will work with the firm’s executive leadership team developing new corporate strategic development projects, which seek to ‘enhance HKJC’s purpose of acting continuously for the betterment of our society’.

A renowned figurehead in Hong Kong Politics, Chi-Yuen has served a thirty-year career in various governmental positions including acting as former Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs from 2011 to 2017, Director of the Chief Executive’s Office from 2009 to 2011, and Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs from 2008 to 2009.

Chi-Yuen will be a member of the Board of Management team and will report directly to Hong Kong Jockey Cub Chief Executive Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.
