Beat the Bobbies

Play cops and robbers and try and make off with some royal swag in Beat The Bobbies. It’s a 5 reel, 243 ways to win game from Eyecon that comes with a bonus features that offers up to 320 free spins with multipliers of between 2x and 5x. Play, on all devices, from between 25p and £50 per spin.

Occasionally, a US drama like Columbo or Murder She Wrote would set in episode in England. The result was usually lots of hilariously outdated clichés of what England is really like – the design in Beat The Bobbies reminded us a little of that.

The visuals are very nicely done but they overload on the stereotypes. Set against a palace backdrop, you’ll see an old lady, a guardsman in bearskin, postman, old man, bulldog, woman, ring, tiara, crown and gemstone symbols spinning around the reels. They’re joined by the hapless copper who is the game’s wild – he appears on the middle 3 reels only and substitutes for all other symbols apart from Penny the cat burglar who is the game’s scatter.

Land 3, 4 or 5 Penny symbols on the same spin and you’ll win a payout equal to 5, 10 or 50 times your total stake. You’ll also trigger the Free Games feature – here, you’ll be offered a selection of free spin and multiplier combinations:

  • 8 free spins with a 5x multiplier
  • 10 free spins with a 4x multiplier
  • 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier
  • 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier

Land the scatters again and you can retrigger more free spins – you can retrigger up to 20 times meaning you could end up with 320 free spins with a 2x multiplier or 128 free spins with a 5x multiplier.

Beat The Bobbies is a very simple game – we found it to be quite a volatile one though. Expect lengthy spells where your pilfering will come to very little. Trigger the bonus round though and you can quickly fill your swag bag full of loot.

We’re used to seeing Chinese and Mexican themed slots full of national stereotypes. Beat The Bobbies does that for Blighty. If you fancy a silly, simple royal caper then Beat The Bobbies offers just that.
