MGM appoints ‘Tech Pro’ George Kliavkoff to lead its Entertainment & Sports properties

MGM Resorts has confirmed the appointment of George Kliavkoff as its new President of Entertainment & Sports, replacing former leadership incumbent Richard Strum.

Kliavkoff takes leadership of MGM’s sports and entertainment verticals at a crucial juncture for the New York-listed gambling and leisure firm, as it expands multiple live venue properties and develops new entertainment concepts.

A seasoned media and technology executive Kliavkoff joins MGM’s executive team from San Francisco based virtual reality content and systems provider – Jaunt XR.

In the executive role, Kliavkoff will be charged with leading MGM entertainment and sports’ bookings, marketing, planning, operations and developing the division’s underlining growth strategy.

Kliavkoff will be based in Las Vegas and report to MGM Resorts President Bill Hornbuckle.

“George is joining our company at an exciting time and will play a key role as we both build on existing successful partnerships as well as continue to expand our industry-leading sports and entertainment offerings,” Hornbuckle said.

Further to the appointment, Bill Hornbuckle confirms that Richard Strum will be kept on as an MGM corporate strategy advisor
