Intralot shows its Turkish intent submitting Sportoto wagering tender

As anticipated the governance of Athens-listed gaming and lottery systems provider Intralot SPA has confirmed that it has submitted its official tender offer to the Turkish Sportoto State Organisation, bidding to manage its ‘SporToto’ fixed-odds and pari-mutuel bookmaker service.

Intralot submits its tender offer through Turkish subsidiary INTELTEK, operator of state-licensed betting operator ‘IDDAA’, a joint-venture which Intralot has operated alongside leading Turkish telecoms firm Turkcell since 2004.

Furthermore, Intralot is the majority shareholder (51%) of leading Turkish market bookmaker BILYONER, an asset which at present accounts for 42% of Intralot’s group revenues.

Entering 2019, Sportoto governance announced that it would place its operating tender up for review, seeking to gain new sports betting provisions, in a bid to boost its SporToto services.

Intralot governance has made little secret of wanting to expand its presence and services within Turkey, the firm’s most important foreign market.

Celebrating 15-years operating in Turkey, last November Intalot announced that it would commit to building an “INTELTEK – technology development division within Turkey, supporting all Intralot global units.

Furthermore, the gambling technology group announced that BILYONER had secured its biggest sponsorship commitment to date with Istanbul football club Galatasaray SK, stating that it would support the development of all Galatasaray syndicated sports clubs – football, basketball, volleyball.
