Dutch KSA appoints ‘Security Pro’ Ronald Prins to lead advisory

Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) the gambling regulatory authority for the Netherlands has confirmed the appointment of Ronald Prins as new Chairman of the KSA Advisory Board, succeeding incumbent Arthur Docters van Leeuwen.

Established in 2014, the KSA Advisory Board assists the regulatory authority and wider stakeholders with advice and guidance on a number of disciplines, ranging from policy making, gambling standards, public affairs, representation and general strategy.

Leading KSA’s advisory, Ronald Prins is a seasoned business executive and government public policy consultant in digital strategies and IT systems securities.

Prins the former Founder and Chief Executive of FOX-IT digital security systems has formally advised the Dutch Electoral Council and Dutch Securities Board, on projects and reviews relating to national security and intelligence frameworks.

The executive will lead the KSA advisory during a critical period for Dutch gambling, with the Netherlands Senate having approved the mandate of Remote Gambling Act this February, putting forward the nation’s initial online gambling frameworks.

Prins commented on joining KSA governance – In the task that the KSA now faces, many of my interests come together. There are administrative aspects to regulating a market. How do you create conditions that create an attractive legal market that ensures that illegal providers are pushed aside? And of course, you also have the IT and security aspects. It is an interesting and exciting job that the KSA stands for. I hope to be able to help with the other members of the advisory board. “
