Bookmaker recognised as luxury brand

Private bookmaker Fitzdares has been recognised as one of Britain’s top luxury brands in the inaugural edition of the Walpole Power List, with Fitzdares CEO William Woodhams listed as one of the most influential people.

The list, compiled in collaboration with Inzito and Coutts, has acknowledged Woodham’s work with the luxury bookmaker alongside the March launch of ‘the world’s first luxury sporting club’, the Fitzdares Club in London’s Mayfair.

Prior to his work with the bookmaker, Woodham cut his teeth at Group LVMH with Belvedere vodka, TAG Heuer, and Christian Dior, before becoming the global CMO of French Connection. Also holding a board position at creative agency, Mission, Woodhams was also behind the ‘iconic’ launch of Annabel’s in Berkley Square.

Helen Brocklebank, CEO of Walpole, commented on the accolade: “British luxury has a unique sensibility – its products and experiences make the country famous throughout the world for creativity, craftsmanship, innovation and the ability to conjure new, exciting, relevant stories from a magical past.

“But what makes British luxury a £48 billion power house is the exceptional ability of the people inside its brands, and Walpole’s annual Luxury Power List recognises and celebrates fifty talented individuals and their impact on this extraordinary, fast-growing sector.”

Woodhams is due to be speaking at the highly-anticipated Betting on Sports in September on the future of advertising in the gambling industry. The event is set to bring together 3,500 senior executives from the sports betting industry, with 200 speakers addressing the sector’s burning questions.
