Tahiti Gold

Tahiti Gold is a 6 reel slot with 4,096 ways to win by ELK Studios. Playable from £1 to £100 per spin on all devices, you are taken to the Pacific Ocean. It’s like their Ecuador Gold slot but with 2 new bonus features and double maximum wins of up to 5,000 times your stake on each spin.

Visually, Tahiti Gold is what you’d expect from an ELK Studios slot – set in the Pacific Ocean, it takes place on a distant volcano island. Adventurer Kane was on his way from Ecuador (Ecuador Gold), he’s become the king of the natives in his new kingdom. With totems either side of the reels, symbols include various markings and animals. You’ll also see 3 masks and Kane himself – Kane is the most rewarding symbol giving you 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5 times your stake for 3, 4, 5 or 6 on a payline.

When it comes to gameplay, Tahiti Gold is played initially in Normal Mode – firstly, you will notice it uses a Big Symbols feature. You will see standard (1×1), super (2×2), mega (3×3) and epic (4×4) big symbols which can fall on any symbol. These big symbols clear away smaller sizes symbols with consecutive avalanches and result in great winning potential. Symbols of the same size (Eye of Tiki, Wild Forge, bonus and sticky wilds are not affected).

Tahiti Gold utilises the Avalanche feature – when you get a winning combination, the contributing symbols explode leaving spaces for more symbols to drop in. If you carry on forming wins, the number of rows will increase which leads to more ways to win:

  • 4 rows = 4,096 ways to win
  • 5 rows = 15,625 ways to win
  • 6 rows = 46,656 ways to win
  • 7 rows = 117,649 ways to win
  • 8 rows = 262,144 ways to win

Tahiti Gold also comes with a wild symbol that replaces all symbols bar the bonus, the Wild Forge symbol and Eye of Tiki symbol. More importantly, all wilds are sticky in the Free Spins feature (more on this below). The blocking Wild Forge symbol will appear on reels 3, 4, 5 and 6 and triggers the Wild Forge feature – the Wild Forge symbol occupies empty spaces below it with wilds after avalanches. They also lock in position. If triggered in the Free Drops Bonus feature, the generated wilds are sticky for the duration of the feature.

Look out for the Eye of Tiki symbol as a combination of 2 or more will trigger the Eye of Tiki feature when you don’t have any other winning combinations. Symbols touched by or included in the area between the Eye of Tiki symbols explode to give you space for more symbols to appear. The symbol drop adds an extra row of symbols with up to 8 rows possible (with more ways to win).

The other important symbol is the bonus symbol which can appear on all reels – up to 2 bonus symbols can appear per reel. When you get 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels, you will trigger the Bonus Mode or the Free Drops Bonus feature – 3, 4, 5 or 6 bonus symbols will give you 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins respectively.

You are than taken to the world of the Nika Nakas where you’ll see waterfalls and fluorescent light effects – the soundtrack is superb too as its local tribe music. Once in, 3 or more bonus symbols will give you additional free spins. You begin with the safety level set to 4 rows – every winning free spin advances the safety level by 1. This can lead to more rows and more ways to win – 8 rows will give you the maximum 262,144 ways to win.

Once you reach a level, you won’t ever go back down which is good – this makes it easier to win the top prize on offer. As mentioned above, you can benefit from the Wild Forge and Eye of Tiki features for more avalanches/rows as well as sticky wilds.

Tahiti Gold is a fascinating slot – it will remind you a lot of ELK Studios’ Ecuador Gold in many ways but it has the added extras of the Wild Forge and Eye of Tiki features. High variance, it also offers huge wins of up to 5,000 times your stake on each spin or free spin when 262,144 ways to win are involved. Tahiti Gold is a magical place – let’s just hope luck is on your side.
