Tabcorp names David Gallop as non-executive director

Australian  ASX-listed gambling group Tabcorp Holdings has confirmed the appointment of former-National Rugby League  (NRL) Chief Executive David Gallop to its Board of governance, assuming the position of Non-Executive Director.

Gallop also served as the CEO for Football Federation Australia from 2012 up until his resignation in July. His tenure is due to end on December 31.

The appointment, which is yet to receive both regulatory and ministerial approval, forms part of an ongoing revamp of the Tabcorp Board. Until the appointment secures the relevant clearance required, Gallop will serve as an observer on the board.

Tabcorp Chairman Paula Dwyer commented on the new appointment: “David has successfully led two of Australia’s highest profile sporting organisations in the NRL and FFA. He brings to our Board a deep understanding of sports administration and the commercial drivers which underpin it.

“David has extensive experience in media rights negotiations, delivering modern sporting content through digital channels, customer experience and in navigating complex stakeholder relationships at a domestic and international level.

“We look forward to the perspectives he will bring to the Tabcorp Board.”

Gallop is due to be one of a number of appointments made to the Tabcorp board, with the operator expected to make further announcements in FY20.
