National Lottery launches new campaign celebrating 25-years of UK support

The National Lottery has launched its new UK-wide advertising campaign ‘The Magic Number’, celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

Developed by London advertising agency Adam&eveDDB on behalf of Camelot UK, the campaign celebrates 25-years of the National Lottery supporting UK charities, social directives, sports development programmes, the arts, culture and heritage conservation.

Having drawn its first lottery on 19 November 1994, the National Lottery states that it has raised £40 billion supporting over 530,000 UK projects and national charities through its Big Lottery Fund.

Featuring the tagline ‘Your Numbers Make Amazing Happen’, the campaign highlights the National Lottery’s biggest success stories such as funding nationwide UK disability and social mobility directives.

Furthermore, The campaign highlights the lottery’s contribution to UK sports is highlighted by Team GB Olympians and Paralympians participating in The Magic Number.

Keith Moor, Camelot chief marketing officer, said: “The National Lottery was set up to raise money for Good Causes and National Lottery players raise around £30 million every single week for this purpose – so we knew straight away that should be the focus of the 25th birthday campaign.

“The inspiring people and projects that feature in the ad really bring this to life – and show people that every time they buy a National Lottery ticket, amazing things happen.”
