bet365 results – in numbers

Today saw the release of the financial results for bet365, comfortably perceived as the leader in online betting and gambling in the industry and winner of SBC’s Sportsbook of the Year award for the last five years.

The report covers the 53 weeks to 31 March 2019 and so takes in figures from the 2018 World Cup in Russia. As befits the industry leader, the figures alone are enough to tell a story of the firm’s success.

  • 10% – increase in Sports and Gaming revenue to £2,981.6m (from £2,718.6m)
  • 12% – increase in Sports and Gaming operating profit to £767.1m
  • 23% – increase in active customers
  • £64,486,235 – amount wagered on sports (also an increase of 23%)
  • 79% – the percentage of Sports revenue derived from In-Play
  • 18% – Growth in Mobile Sports
  • 4,646 – (4389) number of employees, up from 4,030
  • £2,564,000,000 – bet365 group’s cash pile
  • £86,300,000 – the amount being donated to charity by the company, the vast majority of which goes to the Denise Coates Foundation charity

While the growth has slowed, that is down to an increasingly regulated environment with the firm making big investments in social responsibility technology and processes and anti-money laundering safeguards. The firm still leads the way though as shown with its scooping of three awards at the SBC Awards at the start of the month, including the Best Affiliate Programme gong:
