Norsk Tipping exploring fantasy sports option with Scout Gaming

Scout Gaming, a supplier of B2B fantasy sports solutions for regulated market incumbents, is working with Norwegian state-owned wagering monopoly Norsk Tipping to develop a licensed real-money fantasy sports proposition.

The partnership is formed as Norsk Tipping seeks to expand its regulated wagering services for Norwegian sports audiences.

Norsk Tipping serves as Norway’s sole lottery, instant win and sports betting operator, governed by the nation’s Ministry of Culture.

In its update, Scout Gaming details that it is working with Norsk Tipping Director of Innovation Per Kristian Mengshoel to develop a fantasy sports platform in-line with Norway’s strict responsible gambling environment.

“This agreement with Scout Gaming makes it possible for us to explore and iterate, ensuring the best possible solution to the Norwegian market,” said Mengshoel. “We are currently working on proposing game rules which need to be approved by the Norwegian gaming authorities.”

The partnership means Scout Gaming has secured a further European tier-1 operator as a partner. The Stockholm-listed  incumbent acts as lead fantasy sports solutions and systems provider for Betsson AB, Betway and Stoiximan Greece.

“Norway is also a well-established country for Fantasy players,” said Scout Gaming CEO Andreas Ternström. “With Norsk Tipping being able to offer the Scout Gaming portfolio, consumers will have access to a modern and regulated solution. We are convinced that Norsk Tipping will succeed with their commercial and regulatory ambitions.”
