Playtech Plc has confirmed the appointment of Claire Milne as Interim Company Chair, succeeding Alan Jackson who chose to end his seven-year tenure as Chairman of the FTSE250 technology group at the start of the year.
Assessing market dynamics interrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Playtech detailed that it has chosen to delay its executive search for a new permanent Chairman to replace Jackson.
The firm’s decision to suspend its executive search took account of significant limitations and restrictions for a new chairman to undertake comprehensive governance tasks and carry out an effective induction of the company.
Playtech has settled on the interim chair appointment of Milne who has served as a Non-Executive Director of Playtech since 2016, advising governance on global compliance and legal discipline.
Milne has also served as Chair of the firm’s Risk Committee and as a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees.
“The impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic has led us to temporarily pause the final stages of our recruitment process. I am very pleased to have been asked to act as Interim Chairman and will look to provide the necessary continuity ahead of the process concluding, “ Milne commented on her appointment.
“On behalf of the Board and the entire management team, I would also like to thank Alan for his service to Playtech, and for his enthusiasm and his dedication to the business as a Non-Executive director since our IPO in 2006 and, in particular, as our Chairman for the last 7 years.”
