XLMedia completes takeover of 101GreatGoals.com

XLMedia has continued to revamp its publishing network after confirming that it has acquired all remaining interests in football video streaming platform 101GreatGoals.com.

Issuing a market filing, the London AIM-listed affiliate marketing publisher confirmed that it had secured all interests in 101GreatGoals.com from its founders, and will revamp the domain by implementing a ‘simplified control structure’.

In its notice, XLMedia stated that it will optimise the domain’s significant geographical reach, adding that ‘75% of the traffic to 101GreatGoals.com originated outside the UK’.

The transaction forms part of  XLMedia’s wider strategic overhaul, in which management seeks to consolidate and rebalance its publishing portfolio by focusing on content-rich, highly engaging sites in regulated and high-potential markets.

Moving forward, 101GreatGoals.com will be supported by this ‘simplified operating structure’, designed to help the website grow and monetise its traffic for European football audiences and the sizeable US soccer market.

Stuart Simms, Chief Executive Officer of XLMedia, commented: “101GreatGoals.com has built a loyal and growing user base through engaging, up-to-date and highly informative content.”

“This provides a very solid foundation for extending the reach of this asset into additional markets.  It is also indicative of the type of website that XLMedia will seek to develop as we execute on our strategy, based on a balanced portfolio of high-quality assets in attractive markets.”
