Colossus Bets confirms Bernard Marantelli CEO departure

Colossus Bets has confirmed via a Linkedin update that company founder and Chief Executive Officer Bernard Marantelli has ended his tenure of leading the ‘super pools’ betting technology provider.

David O’Reilly, Colossus Bets’ founding Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Marantelli as company chief executive.

He will be supported by the promotion of commercial lead Eva Karagianni-Goel (Chief Commercial Officer), who will take ownership of company operations as Colossus Bets begins its leadership transition.

Colossus Bets expressed confidence in the new senior leaders, reaffirming that O’Reilly and Karagianni-Goel will ‘ensure continuity in all activities’.

Marantelli has stepped down from the company after relocating with his family to Spain, having told the betting technology provider that it ‘was the right time to step out of the day-to-day running of the business’.

Marantelli founded Colossus Bets in 2012, seeking to modernise pool betting systems and syndicate wagering formats for modern punters.

Since its inception, Colossus Bets has launched a number of industry firsts, including the roll-out of the first combined £10 million football pool and community syndicated jackpots for UK bookmakers.

Last year UK racing’s Britbet, the revamped betting pools operator for 55 UK racetracks announced that Colossus Bets would serve as its lead wagering systems supplier, providing a new platform to offer their pool betting markets online and throughout sanctioned racecourses.
