Fortuna emerges triumphant at Polish Bookmakers Awards 2020

Fortuna Zakłady Bukmacherskie emerged as the dominant operator at the 2020 edition of Legalni Bukmacherzy’s Polish Bookmakers Awards.

The Polish arm of Czech gambling group Fortuna Entertainment Group – took home the prestigious Best Bookmaker Award for the third year in a row, whilst also sweeping up the Best Offer and Responsible Bookmaker titles, and claimed a joint Best Marketing prize with forBET.

In addition, Fortuna employee Igor Kośliński was honoured with the Best Affiliate Manager Award as the bookmaker swept five awards out of eight different categories.

A total 12 categories were included at this year’s Awards, with the nominees and winners decided by a group of top experts within the Polish betting and gaming industry. Meanwhile, the winner of the Customers Choice Award was voted by the players as legalnibukmacherzy.pl.

Held online to comply with social distancing measures, the event was hosted by popular sports commentator Jerzy Mielewski and featured European indoor heptathlon champion Sebastian Chamara and Jakub Brzeziński, one of the world’s top sim racers and winner of the Esports WTCC/WTCR 2019 Championships.

“The previous year was very specific,” said Adam Bieliński, CEO of iGamingNuts, the company behind Legalni Bukmacherzy,  “All of the assumptions concerning acquisition and marketing strategies had to be changed due to the cancelation of major sports events and suspension of games in top leagues.

“The whole industry approached the subject in a creative way – the bookmakers extended their offers, introduced new marketing activities, and most importantly, they did not abstain from improving their products.”

STS also found success at this year’s awards, building on the momentum of the 2019 event where it scooped four titles.

The operator, which is Fortuna’s main rival in the market, was awarded three honours this year, winning the Best Mobile App, Best In-play Bets and Best Customer Service Categories.

Additionally, Romania-based Superbet had an excellent run, claiming the statuettes for Debut of the Year and Innovation of the Year, as well as the aforementioned Customers’ Choice Award.

Bieliński concluded: “The bookmakers’ feedback to the third edition of the awards was very positive. We have received words of appreciation for organising the awards ceremony, as well as for our substantive approach to the topic.

“The event was widely commented on social media, which only shows that our Gala is currently the most important event of this kind on the Polish market.”
