Burger King Brazil, Dogecoin for ‘Dogpper’

Brazil’s Burger King franchise in an interesting marketing move is selling the Dogpper burgers in exchange for Dogecoin (DOGE). However, it will be for a limited period of time only.

Burger King outlets at a few locations in Brazil have started accepting Dogecoin (DOGE) payments. However, only the recently introduced biscuit dubbed Dogpper can be paid with “the DOGE”.

The official Burger King Brazil ad notes:

“Now you can buy Dogpper with dogecoin, take advantage of it. What is the best way to pay for a product aimed at dogs? Obviously, Dogecoins”.

According to the fast-food chain’s website, the offer is live since Monday. Customers should however first check the availability of delivery in their region. A Dogpper will cost around 3 Dogecoins. The franchise also offers value meals including the dog treat.

Customers who would like to order, can do so online and will transfer the DOGE coins to Burger King’s Brazil wallet. Customers can also order with the Brazilian Real (BRL). Burger King Brazil announced that it will forward part of the Dogpper sale proceeds to an animal protection NGO, Petlove.

The Burger King promotion further reads:

“The biscuits, which carry the characteristic of the famous grilled meat BK flavor, can be purchased for the value of three dogecoins in a simple transaction: the transfer of DOGE from the consumer wallet directly to the DOGE wallet of Burger King”.

DOGE on the move

Burger King is not the first business to accept Dogecoin as payment as DOGE is becoming increasingly popular, something that must be to the likes of Dogefather Elon Musk.

It was already eight years ago that Cheapair.com started accepting DOGE payments after it had already introduced Bitcoin.

Just last week, Coinbase Commerce announced it had added Dogecoin as payment option.

For those among us that are looking to have some fun with Dogecoin, the first Dogecoin Poker room recently opened its doors in preparation for its official launch August 1.
