The largest movie theatre chain in the U.S., AMC Theatres, will allow Bitcoin, Ether and other cryptocurrencies for online payments.
Following reports in August, and twitter polls of AMC’s CEO Adam Aron, AMC announced that is soon accepting crypto for tickets and other purchases. The service is now in place and will be live later in the year, Aron confirmed on Twitter today.
Big newsflash! As promised, many new ways NOW to pay online at AMC. We proudly now accept: drumroll, please… Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal. Incredibly, they already account for 14% of our total online transactions! Dogecoin next. pic.twitter.com/a7pqYBm7HB

AMC theaters run a total of 593 venues in the U.S. alone and 335 outside the nation’s borders.
Aron also said that Dogecoin will also become available shortly. Doge is already accepted for gift cards in cooperation with BitPay.
The other popular meme-coin and perceived ‘Doge killer’, Shiba Inu, will have to sit patiently until it is thrown perhaps another bone.
