Maxima Compliance Opens New Office in The Netherlands

Maxima Compliance, a leading regulatory and technical compliance provider for the betting and gaming industry, has opened its doors in the Netherlands to better serve customers in the fast-growing Dutch online gaming sector.

Launched in collaboration with Gran Via BV, a leading business consulting firm with in-depth Dutch market expertise, the new joint venture will deliver Maxima suite of technical and regulatory compliance services to Netherlands-based gaming companies, with a tailored approach specific to the country’s regulations.

Antonio Zanghi, CEO of Maxima Compliance, said:

“It’s become clear in the short few months since regulated online gaming launched in the Netherlands that only those with a strong handle on compliance requirements will succeed in this exciting new market. Maxima Compliance’s Dutch office means we can now provide bespoke and local expertise to operators and suppliers in the Netherlands.”

Tom de Bruijn, Co-Founder of Gran Via BV, said:

“Since the Netherlands finally launched its regulated online gaming framework last year, the market is quickly developing into one of the most important in Europe. Gaming businesses are learning that a deep understanding of local conditions and requirements, particularly when it comes to compliance, is essential. That’s why we are thrilled to be working alongside the best in the business, Maxima Compliance.”

Maxima Compliance also announced teaming up with leading Dutch B2B iGaming community, Gaming in Holland, from 2022.

Willem van Oort, Founder of Gaming in Holland, said:

“I am very happy to welcome Maxima Compliance to the Netherlands-focused iGaming community. In order to operate successfully in the highly-regulated Dutch market, technical compliance is of paramount importance. This holds true not only for licensed operators, but also for related B2B service providers.”

The Dutch market launched its regulated online gaming in October of 2021 when the first operating licenses were granted. Nevertheless, some industry giants like Flutter’s PokerStars and Entain’s bwin, were left out and had to sit out a minimum 6-month penalty.

The Netherlands is set to become a profitable online gambling market in the regulated European space. The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) estimates total revenues to reach EUR 1.1 billion in 2024.
