Although the crypto markets had a horrific week, non-fungible tokens are doing better than ever. Top NFT marketplace, OpenSea, managed to break its monthly sales record already halfway through the month with $3.5 billion in Sales last week.
NBA Top Shot, Dapper Labs project on the Flow blockchain, presenting licensed NBA “moments”, did especially well over the past 30 days.
Regarded as the NFT series that kicked off the larger interest for the digital collector space in March last year, NBA Top Shot lost some of its shine a couple of months after.
Nevertheless, the series is back and looks stronger than ever, with $53.8 million in sales in the last 30 days, according to CryptoSlam data. How did this happen? Well, it could have something to do with NBA star Kevin Durant’s efforts.
Last week, NBA Top Shot started a new TV and social media ad campaign featuring the NBA All Star and is offering first-time Top Shot pack buyers a free Durant NFT “moment.”

Dapper Labs is also branching out to other sports. This weekend it has launched the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Strike NT collectibles, featuring historical moments from UFC fights.
