4-Time Grand Slam Winner Naomi Osaka Joins Cryptocurrency Exchange FTX

On Monday cryptocurrency exchange FTX announced that it brought 24-year old and former world no1 tennis star, Naomi Osaka, on board.

In exchange for her services, Osaka will be receiving an equity stake in the exchange on top of an undisclosed amount of cryptocurrency. The four-time Grand Slam singles champion, will be part of a “long-term partnership” aimed at bringing women into crypto, FTX said.

Osaka commented on her recent endorsement:

“We have seen the statistics about how few women are part of crypto by comparison, which kind of mirrors the inequality we see in other financial markets.

Cryptocurrencies started with the goal of being accessible to everyone and breaking down barriers to entry.”

Osaka joins seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, his wife Gisele Bündchen and NBA star Stephen Curry as ambassador on ‘team FTX’. This week, Osaka will already “creatively direct and produce content” during the Miami Open, where she will play her first match against Australian Astra Sharma.
