Blockchain Game ‘Cross the Ages’ Collects $12M in Seeding Round

Free-to-play game featuring digital trading cards as non-fungible tokens (NFT), Cross the Ages (CTA), has announced a $12 million seed round, which included participation of crypto gaming investment firm Animoca Brands, Ubisoft, Polgyon and the co-founder of The Sandbox.

“Cross the Ages” is a mobile-first collectible card game, based on a series of free-to-read novels. Set in a dystopian future, players can compete in teams or individually for NFTs with the option of converting digital cards into physical copies.

The raised funds will be allocated towards a development program, talent retention and go-to-market activities.

CTA will have a beta version ready in late May followed by digital and physical cards in June. Plans are that by mid-2023 the game will add metaverse elements, such as quests based on clues in the novels.
