Kraken Exchange Opens Waitlist for its NFT Marketplace

Crypto exchange Kraken has opened up the waitlist for its long-awaited non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.

In a company blog post, the Kraken team announced that among the many features users can benefit from are the “zero gas fees” on all trades involving NFTs custodied on the platform. Users will only be charged with gas fees when transferring NFTs onto or off the marketplace.

“Once your NFT is custodied with Kraken NFT, you will not pay any blockchain network fees for trading activity that takes place within our platform.”

The announcement comes a couple of months after the Jesse Powell led exchange revealed its Kraken NFT plans, which it highlights as a “complete solution” for those wanting to explore, trade and secure NFT collections.

Through a seamless integration of the NFT account with the customer’s Kraken account, users can transact NFTs with cash or crypto, the blog post details.

While it initially only supports Solana and Ethereum, Kraken NFT will in the future be supporting several other blockchains.

Several other major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Coinbase, Binance and FTX have already introduced their own NFT marketplaces in the last year.
